Talal Zaim is a freshman at Purdue University. He is currently in the First-Year Engineering program, but hopes to join the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics. His passions include all-things space, with an emphasis on propulsion and orbital mechanics. Those passions led him to join the Project HALO team in 2019, which successfully launched a balloon to the stratosphere. Now, formally a Purdue student, he is back on the Project HALO team, serving as a mentor and helping the next set of high-school students launch their own high-altitude balloon. He hopes to use the knowledge gained from Project HALO as well as from other clubs to become a rocket scientist one day, helping humans to sail the stars as explorers and adventurers.
