Global Engineering Design Symposium (GEDS) 2014

Purdue's Global Engineering Program (GEP) hosted the third annual Global Engineering Design Symposium (GEDS) on January 25, 2014. Through a series of presentations and interactive discussions, the symposium challenged participants to think about what it means to undertake participatory problem solving in developing contexts, including a thorough discussion of considering stakeholder needs and engaging with international partners.

The roster of invited speakers included Rayvon Fouché (Purdue College of Liberal Arts), Gary Burniske (Purdue Center for Global Food Security), and Andrea Mazzurco (Purdue School of Engineering Education).

More than a hundred Purdue students, faculty, and staff participated in the symposium, representing programs such as Global Design Teams, EPICS, and Engineers Without Borders. We were also pleased to have high school students and faculty from Lindblom Academy of Math & Science in Chicago in attendance.

Andrea Mazzurco presents information regarding designing for stakeholders for students.
