GDT Update from Bangang Cameroon

Things are going great and all the students are handling things extremely well.

Monday May 16: The BUV is up on its wheels and we’ve made good progress. The students are working until 2pm tomorrow and then going to the local village for market day (once a week). On Friday is the national holiday and they will take a break to watch the parades.

Friday May 13: Right now (evening) they are playing cards with the local village kids and with some of the very young kids sitting on their laps coloring using the books and crayons we brought. Kim went with the local women and did laundry (in a bucket) for the Purdue group. Ryan stayed an extra night in Ethiopia after his last leg was cancelled but was able to email me and I contacted Vincent and there were no problems.

The BUV team almost has the frame done even though the sizes expected sizes of steel were unavailable and we are making adjustments on the fly. Excellent team chemistry and a great experience for them. The hydro team is making progress on their work. They are hoping to get one of the turbines fixed and up and running.
