Michael Grant

Assistant Professor of Aeronautics and Astronautics

Mike Grant Mike earned a B.S. in aeronautics and astronautics from Purdue in 2006 and an M.S. in aerospace engineering from Georgia Tech in 2008. He received his Ph.D. from the Daniel Guggenheim School of Aerospace Engineering at Georgia Tech in May 2012.

At Georgia Tech, he conducted research in hypersonic flight including aerodynamics, atmospheric flight mechanics, and guidance and control. He also received three AIAA Atmospheric Flight Mechanics best paper awards and was named the 2009 Boeing Engineering Student of the Year. His dissertation, "Rapid Simultaneous Hypersonic Aerodynamic and Trajectory Optimization," advanced the state of the art in hypersonic design by addressing fundamental limitations that exist in current hypersonic design techniques.
