Dr. Indrajeet Chaubey received a Ph.D. in biosystems engineering from Oklahoma State University, an M.S. in biological and agricultural engineering from the University of Arkansas, and an M.S. in agricultural engineering from the University of Allahabad, India.
Dr. Chaubey has developed a nationally and internationally recognized research program in ecohydrology, nonpoint source pollution, and watershed modeling. His research efforts at the University of Arkansas involving watershed models have enabled state agencies to prioritize watersheds for best management practices (BMP) implementation and nonpoint source pollution control. He has also developed decision support systems, using watershed models such as the Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) and economic models to evaluate the performance of BMPs in reducing nonpoint source pollution. He is a lead investigator on one of 13 national projects funded by USDA-CSREES to evaluate conservation effectiveness assessment programs.
Dr. Chaubey has received the New Holland Young Researcher Award from ASABE, the Outstanding Agricultural Engineering Award from the Arkansas section of ASABE, the Faculty Research Award of Merit from Gamma Sigma Delta at the University of Arkansas, and Outstanding Researcher Award from University of Arkansas, and the Graduate Research Excellence Award from Oklahoma State University.
