Senior Vice President, Valvoline & Managing Director, Valvoline International Inc.
Craig Moughler is senior vice president of Valvoline and managing director for Valvoline International Inc. In this role, he is responsible for the successful long-term growth of international markets for Valvoline, a division of Ashland Inc. Best known for marketing and distribution of its branded Valvoline lubricants and automotive chemicals in more than 160 countries and territories around the world, it also owns and operates Valvoline Instant Oil Change (VIOC), the second largest quick lube chain in the U.S. In addition to responsibility for international markets, Moughler is charged with expansion of the company's global OEM business, which provides a variety of products and services to a range of original equipment makers. Both the International and OEM business units have been targeted for substantial growth within Valvoline. Mr. Moughler joined Valvoline in 1988 as manager of plant engineering, later moving into vice president positions in several operating units, including VIOC, global manufacturing and distribution, e-business and business transformation. He began his current role with Valvoline International in October 2002. Mr. Moughler serves as a director for Valvoline joint venture operating companies in India, China, Thailand, Ecuador, Columbia and Argentina. At one point he managed his worldwide team from Shanghai, Peoples Republic of China, from 2007 to 2009. A native of Indiana, he holds a bachelors degree in civil engineering from Purdue University (1979), and an MBA from the University of New Orleans (1984). He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, and has held leadership positions in several industry and charitable organizations, including the Petroleum Packaging Council the World Trade Center of Kentucky, and the Opportunity Workshop of Lexington. Mr. Moughler and his wife reside in Lexington, Ky.; they have three adult daughters who also live in the area.
