A Parting Thank You

In this 2017 issue of Engineering IMPRINTS, I have the pleasure, one last time, of publicly expressing my gratitude for your loyal and generous support for Purdue Engineering. You have made so much possible.

It is fitting that I finish my term as dean as the College completes its five-year strategic expansion and its bold strategic plan, Extraordinary People, Extraordinary Growth, Extraordinary Impact. We have seen record-breaking numbers; exciting accomplishments in research, in education, and in the ways we connect with our local and global communities; transformative changes; reimagined spaces — all of which you helped make possible.

Because of your support, we are able to address the national need for more engineers; enable researchers to tackle the world’s grand challenges; and recruit, retain, and empower superb students, faculty, and staff.

It has been extraordinarily rewarding to serve as the John A. Edwardson Dean of Purdue’s College of Engineering. And as I turn my attention to being a faculty member in the Schools of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Engineering Education, I look forward both to seeing familiar faces and forging new relationships in the years to come.

Although words cannot fully express my gratitude for the past 11 years, I offer my heartfelt thanks to the Purdue family — to all of you — for the opportunity to lead and to serve our great College. It has been an honor.
