Annual Giving Overview

The 2014-15 year saw the College of Engineering mark significant milestones toward objectives outlined in our 2012-16 plan for strategic growth. We are humbled yet again by the generosity of our philanthropic alumni and friends as we say "thank you" for our progress this year.

With your support and Purdue's significant investment in the College's plan to expand and serve more students as we serve our state, the nation and the world, we are optimistic that we will achieve our ambitious goals.

As of this writing, we have raised $77.5 million toward a $150 million goal to support our strategic growth. Of that amount, we now have $23.8 million toward a $45 million goal for endowment funds to support new student scholarships. These scholarships will be difference makers for deserving, diverse, high-ability students whose biggest challenge in attending Purdue is financial.

We also have set a $30 million goal to add faculty who will serve our larger student body. To date, we have raised $19 million toward that goal for endowments supporting new professorships as well as current, rising star faculty whose exceptional work has distinguished them among their peers. These endowments are our means to reward and retain faculty whose work enhances student learning as well as Purdue Engineering's worldwide reputation in research " work that has made our faculty the envy of other institutions.

Efficient and innovative classrooms, labs and offices are needed for our growing student body and faculty; I'm happy to say our plan to add new space and rethink and renovate existing spaces now has achieved $30.4 million toward a $75 million goal.

As we pursue our College's unique agenda for growth and impact, we are contributing to the University's Purdue Moves goals for STEM leadership; world-changing research; transformative education; and affordability and accessibility.

This fall we join the University-wide effort in a $2.019 billion campaign to elevate Purdue to new heights of research excellence and intellectual achievement. After many years of witnessing the remarkable generosity of Purdue Engineering alums and friends, I imagine we will be humbled, yet again, by how eagerly you answer this call.
