Engineering Commencement Ceremony Schedule Change

Because of the large number of engineering graduates this May, there will be two commencement ceremonies for engineering students on Sunday, May 18, according to the following schedule:
  • The first ceremony will be for engineering master's and PhD candidates. It will begin at 1 p.m. Engineering master's and PhD candidates should report to the Purdue Armory for line-up no later than 11:30 a.m.
  • The second ceremony will be for Engineering undergraduates only, and will begin at 3:45 p.m. Engineering undergraduate candidates should report to the Purdue Armory for line-up no later than 2 p.m.

Engineering major professors who are participating in the hooding of their PhD student(s) are asked to note two items:

  • The ceremony begins at 1 p.m. Arrive at the Purdue Armory by 11:45 a.m. (1 hour and 15 minutes before the  ceremony).
  • If the change in time creates a conflict, please contact the Office of the Registrar as soon as possible:  Nikki Zimmerman, 49-46157 or at

Those participating as a marshal or in any other capacity in the undergraduate ceremony are asked to arrive at the Purdue Armory by 2 p.m. (1 hour and 30 minutes before the ceremony). These participants will receive additional details from the registrar’s office about their responsibilities, attire, etc.
Members of the platform party for one or both ceremonies are asked to arrive at Hovde Hall by 12:20 p.m. for the graduate ceremony and by 2:55 p.m. for the undergraduate ceremony.
