Come meet Paralympians, prospects, Purdue student-athletes and special guests to raise awareness for Paralympic Sports. Show your support for diversity and inclusion and leave inspired to achieve your full potential.

 

Meet Shelby Gruss, former captain of the USA wheelchair basketball team, now pursuing her PhD in Agronomy at Purdue, and your fellow student-athlete, Léony Boudreau from Purdue's women’s basketball team and studying in Biomedical Engineering.  There will be food and a lot of surprises for you! So come join us and have fun surrounded by GREATNESS just like YOU!

This event is free and open to the public.  Donations will be accepted for the “Challenged Athlete Foundation”, who focuses on “empowering life through sports” by providing resources to athletes for them to perform and live at their full potential 

Detailed schedule:

2:00 pm - Doors of Holloway Gym opens
2:30 pm - Welcome & Athletes presentation
2:45 pm - Start of first half of a wheelchair basketball game
3:00 pm - Half time

  • Speaker: Dr. Eric Nauman (Purdue University professor)
  • Wheelchair basketball competitions (with Purdue student-athletes)

3:30 pm - Start of the second half
3:45 pm - Dr. Jan-Anders Mansson speech (member of the International Olympic Committee & Purdue professor)
4:00 pm - Question and answer session with Paralympians, prospects and Purdue student-athletes
4:30 pm - Autograph session & time to meet athletes. Try a wheelchair and get ideas for innovative assistive technology.
5:00 pm - Get ready to support Purdue football !!
