First annual symposium on Applied Spectroscopy and Photonics where we have invited world renowned researchers in the field of spectroscopy, astronomy, photonics to cover wide range of TED-style talks including laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS), Raman spectroscopy, single photon spectroscopy, biophotonics, fluoroscence, laser spectroscopy, astronomy, and laser machining.

Keynote lectures will be presented by researchers from Los Alamos National Laboratory, Pennsylvania State University, Boston University, McGill University, the University of Illinois and Purdue. The lectures will be presented on subjects including Mars exploration with the Curiosity rover and laser spectroscopy; next-generation planet hunting; and “revisiting the ‘little animals’ under a chemical microscope.”Poster sessions will be held to encourage discussion on the latest research in the field of photonics and spectroscopy. Undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to participate and awards will be presented to students.
