Purdue University's Women in Engineering Program will offer seventh- through ninth-grade students a daylong engineering event on July 11. "Engineering FYI: For Your Imagination" is geared toward young women interested in engineering and science.

This workshop will present most recent advances in both development and applications of spectroscopic imaging platforms and discuss potentially transformative impacts. A second goal of the workshop is to provide a platform for graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and junior faculty to learn label-free imaging technologies through lab training. One day: $90.00, two days: $180.00, exhibitor (includes one complimentary registration): $250.00.

Join Purdue Lunabotics at this robot showcase. Members of the team will be on location to answer questions about the robots, team and projects. Purdue First Programs will also be showcasing their robots in the MSEE Atrium.

Who doesn't want to launch a water-logged projectile? In the final team competition event, catapults or other firing devices will be built from provided materials. Teams will be judged by how far they can launch their object.

PSEF will host a Pancake Breakfast for Engineering students. Come enjoy either plain and chocolate chip pancakes with an array of additional toppings for an extra tasty treat. The money earned will be donated to PSEF's Relay for Life team.

Students will catapult tennis balls using a designed catapult into hoops at varying distances. Successful throws will be awarded points for which prizes will be given. The highest score at the end of the day will receive a stack of 1000 pages of engineering paper.

Games will include:

- Oreo Cookie Balance: Determine how many Oreos you can balance on your nose and then eat without using your hands in 60 seconds.
- Jenga Tower Showdown: Two teams of 1-2 students will have 60 seconds to see how many blocks they can remove from the tower.
- Candy Toss: Two teams of 2 students will have 60 seconds to see which team can toss as many pieces of candy into their partner's cup, which is held behind his/her head.
- Jenga Bridge Challenge: Two teams of 1-2 students will have 60 seconds to determine who can build the longest bridge out of Jenga blocks with the least number of blocks.

Beverages are provided to all participants! Winners will receive candy!
