NE students place first in design competition

A team of six nuclear engineering students first place in the 2014 American Nuclear Society (ANS) Student Design Competition in November.

The competing teams, which were charged with meeting demand amidst a shortage of domestically produced Molybdenum-99, were judged by industry representatives in the competition.

The winning team members are graduate students Jake Hader, James Marshall, Faisal Odeh, Mateusz Polek and Shane Rafferty, and undergraduate Jeffrey Klimes. Their advisor is Won Sik Yang, professor of nuclear engineering.
