Materials Engineering

The academic programs of the School of Materials Engineering have been developed around broad and basic phenomena, applied to all the major classes of artificial materials – ceramics, metals, glasses, polymers and semiconductors. The undergraduate and graduate programs integrate our faculty strengths across the four cornerstones of the field: structure, properties, processing, and performance. This academic core forms the base of an individual and flexible plan of study that provides well for each student’s career needs in a rapidly changing world, whether they go to work for a primary materials producer, an industry that consumes materials, or go on for further study in materials or another field altogether.
