|Environmental Aquatic Chemistry Laboratory|
In this laboratory, students and post-docs in environmental and ecological engineering conduct research on the fate of pollutants and other chemicals in the aquatic environment, and strategies for the remediation of contaminated soils, aquifers, and sediments. Bench scale studies are conducted to evaluate and model many of the chemical and photochemical processes that occur in nature and in engineered treatment unit operations. Most experiments are conducted on samples collected at field sites, coordinating bench-scale studies with larger field-scale projects.
