The Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering was formed through the integration of the unique research expertise and resources of Purdue's Hillenbrand Biomedical Engineering Center with our novel Biomedical Engineering Graduate Program that is a joint effort of Purdue and Indiana Universities. With our successful history of biomedical engineering research that has had significant industrial and clinical impact, we are undergoing rapid growth through strategic faculty hires, the expansion of our educational programs at all levels, and the construction of state-of-the-art facilities. The school encourages and fosters highly interdisciplinary research that spans modern biomedical engineering with a dedicated emphasis on the molecular and cellular foundations of implantable devices and tissues.
