This two day program is designed to assist engineering and science faculty to manage the human elements of leadership more skillfully.

The program introduces participants to management and leadership theories and practices, with an eye toward offering an array of possibilities and approaches that can be tried and adopted. The presenters use behavioral and thinking style feedback tools, and application activities to apply concepts to concrete academic and research situations. The program is interactive and experiential and entirely designed and tailored for academic settings.

The program will be delivered by Charles Leiserson, Electrical Engineering Professor, MIT and Chuck McVinney, Executive Consultant and Educator, who have designed and delivered the program together for 12 years at MIT. Within the last decade, the pair have also delivered this program successfully to similar audiences of science and engineering at Carnegie Melon University, Harvard University, UC Berkeley and the National University of Singapore.  I attended the workshop at MIT last summer and believe that it is an effective program for our faculty to develop their leadership skills.
