Center Supports the Quantum Science Center 2nd Annual Quantum Summer School

The Elmore ECE Emerging Frontiers Center on the Crossroads of Quantum and AI helped to organize a hybrid format Quantum Summer School in partnership with the Department of Energy’s Quantum Science Center. The event was held from May 8 – 12 and had over 120 in-person participants and approximately 20 – 40 people joining each session virtually. Each day consisted of a series of seminars from world-renowned experts from academia, government, and industry followed by panel discussions for the attendees to guide a more interactive Q&A with the speakers. The Center sponsored a full day of the summer school to enhance knowledge sharing between the “virtual” and “physical” sides of electrical engineering. During this sponsored day, many Center participants gave seminars on their Center-supported technical activities and supported panel discussions on the intersection of quantum and AI.

The summer school also included student poster sessions, professional development panels and workshops, and networking and social events for students from around the country to engage with many high-profile speakers. Photos highlighting the event are included below. More details on the event can be found here.
