AAAS Annual meeting talk “From basic research to a quantum-smart society: merging AI and quantum science”
Speaker: Alexandra Boltasseva, Purdue University and the Quantum Science Center
Artificial intelligence and quantum information science: Scientists are merging these two powerful, historically disconnected approaches not only to advance fundamental science, but also to accelerate the development of novel, practical devices that people would use daily. This in turn will serve as a stepping stone for forming a new quantum culture and a demystified view of “quantum” in society, which is important for creating the fertile ground to nurture and educate the future workforce.
This is one of three presentations given as part of a scientific session at the 2022 Meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. The session is titled ‘Quantum for the people: connecting quantum information science and society.
Moderator: Silvia Zorzetti, Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory and the Superconducting Quantum Materials and Systems Center
