EPICS Spring 2015 Week 11 Announcements (March 30 – April 3, 2015)

  1. This Week’s Lectures
    a. Leadership Track: The final session in the series will take place Monday, March 30th for those who have been participating. Please bring homework and book.
    b. Do you need additional lecture/skill sessions to meet your lecture requirement? There are three lectures scheduled in April. You can also talk to your advisor to determine what appropriate activities you might complete to earn the needed credits. You can receive credit for these activities by completing an "Advisor Approved Activity Credit" form: Advisor_approved_activity_credit.doc

  2. Interested in an internship with Energy Systems Network (ESN)? Send your resume to epics@purdue.edu. See attachment for more information.

  3. The ECE Student Society is hosting The Spark Challenge this May. It is a corporate-sponsored design competition open to all undergraduate students and they are looking for more participants. You can find more details regarding this event on https://engineering.purdue.edu/ECESS/spark/.

  4. Registering for EPICS next semester:
    a. You should register for EPICS when registering for your other classes during your Registration Time in myPurdue.
    b. If your section shows that it is full in myPurdue when it is your time to register, PLEASE SEE Pam Brown in ARMS 1207 for an override during YOUR REGISTRATION TIME.
    c. If you have recruited someone specifically for your team, but the team shows that it is full in myPurdue, PLEASE email Pam Brown (pamb@purdue.edu) and send the recruited student to SEE Pam in ARMS 1207 DURING THEIR REGISTRATION TIME.

  5. Delivering your project this semester? Please review the Delivery guidelines on the EPICS website: Delivery_Process

  6. Upcoming Skill Sessions: Register in myEPICS. Please unregister at least 24 hours in advance if you cannot attend.

    a. Boeing Info Session
       i. Scheduled for Tuesday, March 31 at 12:30 pm in ARMS 1098C
       ii. Duration: 60 min. Credits: 1

       iv. Presenters: Michael Abraham Aerospace Engineer at The Boeing Company
       v. Description: Learn about careers at Boeing and how prototyping is done at Boeing. Pizza provided.

    b. Project Manager - Meeting 4
       i. Scheduled for Monday, April 13 at 5:30 pm in ARMS 1098C
       ii. Duration: 60 min. Credits: 1
       iii. Sponsor: Carla Zoltowski (cbz@purdue.edu)
       iv. Presenters: TJ, Kelsey, and Ally
       v. Description: 4th meeting in continuing series for Project Managers. Pizza will be provided.

    c. Project Archivist Peer Review
       i. Scheduled for Thursday, April 16 at 5:30 pm in ARMS 1098C
       ii. Duration: 60 min. Credits: 1

       v. Description: Project Archivist peer review. Please bring your team's or project's design documentation.
