Senior Design

Please see the Senior Design Verification Process document for detailed information about the Senior Design Verification Process. This includes deadlines for required documentation and presentations.

Please note: All outcomes for Senior Design will be assessed using the Senior Design Outcomes Rubric. Senior Design students must demonstrate at least minimal competency in all outcomes to pass the course.

Senior Design Module to be completed by all Senior Design Students.

First semester Senior Design students are expected to:

  1. Create a folder in the Senior Design folder on their team's site.
  2. Attend/watch the Ethics lecture and complete associated homework.
  3. Complete a project proposal approved by their team’s advisor by Week 4. Make sure that the most current version of the Senior Design Project Proposal form is used.  Draft and final versions of the Project Proposal should be posted on sharepoint.
  4. Regularly update and review their outcomes matrix with the TA and advisor throughout the semester. This is to be submitted in place of the Individual Evaluation Rubric (weeks 4, 8, 12 (optional), and final). Draft versions of the Outcome Matrix should be posted on sharepoint.

Second semester Senior Design students are expected to:

  1. Submit a completed Project Description Document (one per project team). This document can draw from the description completed for the Project Proposal. Make sure that the most current version of the Senior Design Project Description form is used.   Update the "Semesters on Team" headings if needed. It must be submitted using the correct format. The correct template is given below.
  2. Regularly update and review their outcomes matrix with the TA and advisor throughout the semester. This is to be submitted in place of the Individual Evaluation Rubric (weeks 4, 8, 12 (optional), and final). Draft, and final approved, versions of the Outcome Matrix should be posted on sharepoint.
  3. Get feedback from Dr. Carla Zoltowski on the Project Description.
  4. Draft and final, approved copies of the Senior Design Project Description should be posted on the Share Point Server.
  5. ALL Senior Design students are expected to attend/watch the Ethics lecture if they did not in the first semester.
