ENE Memo: December 16, 2013

From the Head: 12/16

A Well Deserved Break

This has been a BIG semester. We have had the ABET accreditation site visit (following up all the preparation in last spring), several key people transitioning out of ENE; four new faculty plus a new business manager have joined us, a large graduating class from the PhD  and we began the year of celebration for our tenth anniversary. We celebrated at the staff awards.

Next spring will be similarly hectic as we fill up to five new faculty positions plus several key staff positions and we move to high point of our year of celebration on April 9. Over the summer we will be moving all our research operations to the third floor of Wang Hall.

My hope is that we all get a chance over the coming weeks to have a break from the day to day and find some quality time to reflect and recharge and prepare for the year ahead.

I want to thank everyone for their dedicated efforts during this sometimes unpredictable semester. I look forward to a productive spring as part of a bright 2014 as we mark our first decade and imagine where we might be in another decade.
