Michele Yatchmeneff, PhD student in the School of Engineering Education (ENE), is one of two Alaskan Natives to begin a tenure-track in engineering at the University of Alaska Anchorage this fall.

She is featured for this unprecedented event in an article shared by the Alaska Native Science & Engineering Program (ANSEP) in which she is also deeply rooted as a former student.

Dr. Yatchmeneff defended in July with her dissertation, “A Qualitative Study of Motivation in Alaska Native Science and Engineering Program (ANSEP) Precollege Students” and is working on depositing her PhD this semester.

On behalf of ENE, we congratulate Michele on her great successes and will no doubt see more great things to come!
