ENE Grad Students, TAs Receive Recognition

ENE graduate students
This semester, ENE graduate students and TAs have earned a range of honors and awards for research, teaching, and service.
  • Graduate students Marisol Mercado and Meagan Ross received NSF Fellowships. Julia Thompson received an honorable mention.
     
  • Graduate student (now alumna) Irene Mena will receive the Best Paper Award from the Graduate Studies Division at the American Society for Engineering Education meeting in June. Her paper is titled, "Doctoral students as course instructors: Three engineering teaching assistants' socialization experiences."
  • Graduate student Ida Ngambeki received a Purdue Bilsland Dissertation Fellowship.
     
  • Purdue Engineering's 2011 Graduate Student Research, Teaching, and Service Awards Program honored teaching assistants Masaki Kakoi and Hugo Pelaez for excellence in teaching, and graduate student Brianna Dorie for outstanding service.
     
  •  TA Jit-Tat Chen received ENE's CETA (Committee for the Education of Teaching Assistants) award.
