Purdue's Radiological and Environmental Management (REM) presented the ENE Safety Committee with a Presidential Safety Award on March 5. It was one of four recipients from across the university to earn the honor.

The team was recognized for an ongoing commitment to safety of undergraduate students.  In particular, the Artisan and Fabrication Lab's (AFL) requirement that each student sign a safety contract and complete an online quiz for each machine that is used.

REM also cited the AFL's machine locking/unlocking protocol, posted Standard Operating Procedures and the personal protective equipment required for each machine.
