Main receives Teaching for Tomorrow Award

Joyce Main
Dr. Joyce Main
Joyce Main, assistant professor in the School of Engineering Education, is one of 15 Purdue faculty members selected for a yearlong program focused on teaching.

The Teaching for Tomorrow Fellowship program matches “junior” faculty with highly accomplished and experienced faculty. Over the academic year, they will address important topics and experiences related to teaching and student learning. Each participant will receive faculty development funds as well.

Main’s faculty mentor is Janet Alsup, professor of English Education in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction and the Department of English.

The 2015-2016 cohort will have a meeting with the three senior mentors at the beginning of the fall semester to discuss plans for the year. The group will get together approximately twice a month throughout the academic year as a type of learning community.

The Purdue Classes of 1944 and 1945 provided resources to establish the fellowship program, which is run through the Office of the Provost.
