David Radcliffe Named Head of ENE

ENE's Epistemology Professor of Engineering Education, and interim head since July 2009, Radcliffe assumes the permanent role as Kamyar Haghighi Head of Engineering Education effective May 1.

Radcliffe (shown at right, standing, with Haghighi) received BS and MS degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of Queensland (Australia) and a PhD in bioengineering from Strathclyde University (Scotland). Before joining Purdue in 2007, he was the Thiess Professor of Engineering Education and Professional Development in the School of Engineering at the University of Queensland and Director of the Catalyst Research Centre for Society and Technology. His teaching and research interests span design, sustainable systems, engineering education and professional development, and knowledge management.

“I am confident that David's vision, perspective, and thoughtfulness will lead the school to great success, and I am confident that David will continue to play a leadership role in shaping the emerging discipline of engineering education,” says Leah Jamieson, the John A. Edwardson Dean of the College of Engineering.
