Graduate Program Open House
Purdue University’s School of Engineering Education, informally known as ENE, created the world’s first engineering education doctoral program in 2004. Our program is about conducting fundamental research on engineering learning and bridging research and practice.
Purdue ENE has attracted students who wish to pursue high quality research into how engineering is best taught, learned and practiced. A PhD in engineering education has opened doors for our alumni to a range of career opportunities, from academia to nonprofit work to industry.
Nearly two decades later, the impact of the program can be found embedded in the many new departments, schools, and programs at peer institutions across the nation, all dedicated to furthering the advancement of engineering education research. They are led and supported by our alumni serving as faculty, many of whom have earned tenure promotions, prestigious teaching and publication awards, and research grants. Celebratory examples can be found on our school’s LinkedIn page.
Above all else, we are proud of the supportive, close-knit community that our alumni have built on a strong foundation that carries with them throughout their career.
Take the first step.
