Undergraduate Teaching Assistant

Undergraduate Teaching Assistants help with First-Year Engineering (FYE) courses, working with instructors and Graduate Teaching Assistants. Duties include helping students during class; grading; attending weekly meetings with your teaching team; assisting with Help Sessions, and other duties as assigned. This position is paid hourly, and the expectation is to work 8 to 12 hours per week with the possibility of working up to 15 hours per week occasionally. To apply, students must have completed FYE coursework (ENGR 13000, 13100/13200, 13300 or equivalent) with a grade of B or better. This position qualifies for Federal Work Study so please information us about your FWS when applying.

Graduate Teaching Assistant

Applications open from 02/15/2024 – 03/31/2024. Graduate Teaching Assistants help an instructor and the instructional support team with the execution of FYE courses (ENGR 13000/13100/13200/13300). Duties range from maintaining course management software, overseeing evening help sessions, grading, and mentoring Undergraduate Teaching Assistants. Visiting Assistant Professor of Engineering Education

September 1, 2023The School of Engineering Education invites applications for multiple Visiting Assistant Professor positions. Purdue seeks to attract exceptional candidates with interest and expertise in engineering education research. Candidates must have a Ph.D. with at least one degree in engineering, education or a related field. The Visiting Assistant Professor will primarily teach within First-Year Engineering (FYE), which includes the foundational courses of ENGR 131–Transforming Ideas to Innovation I and ENGR 132–Transforming Ideas to Innovation II that focus on the engineering design cycle and programming languages. The Visiting Assistant Professor may teach other courses in FYE and Multidisciplinary Engineering/Interdisciplinary Engineering Studies. Lecturer

September 22, 2023—The School of Engineering Education invites applications for a full-time, full year (12 month) continuing lecturer position beginning as early as January of 2024 and continuing on a yearly basis. The candidate will join the team of instructors of First-Year Engineering (FYE) and work closely with faculty and staff from the School and other programs across the College of Engineering (VIP and EPICS). Candidates must have an M.S. or Ph.D. in an engineering or closely related field, or an MBA with an engineering B.S. The continuing lecturer will teach primarily within FYE, which includes foundational courses ENGR 13100–Transforming Ideas to Innovation I, ENGR 13200–Transforming Ideas to Innovation II, ENGR 13000–Transforming ideas to Innovations I & II and ENGR 13300–the EPICS and VIP version. Administrative Assistant

Provide assistance to the Assistant Head of First-Year Engineering, the Director of Communications, and several Engineering Education faculty. Assist in course evaluations, coordinating semester board meetings, and alumni events.
