EEE research assistant gives presentation at 2016 INFORMS meeting

Environmental and Ecological Engineering research assistant Hongyue Jin gave a presentation at the 2016 Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS) Annual Meeting in Nashville, Tennessee, on November 13-16.

Hongyue Jin (pictured left) presented her paper, Profit optimization for rare earth magnet recovery from end-of-life products under market supply and demand uncertainties. The presentation session was “Decision Support Systems II,” chaired by Professor Koki Ho, from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Jin received valuable feedback from the audience that helped improve her research. There were over 5,000 presentations in the conference covering diverse topics such as optimization, green supply chain management, and environmental operations (e.g., E-waste recycling). “This conference was very helpful,” Jin noted. “I met many great scholars in my field, and was able to attend interesting talks which broadened my own perspectives.”
