Hi All,
Since some of you are grading for VIP for the first time, and have asked me questions, here is some information that can help. Please read carefully.
1. Grading for Gogs:
* For every student assigned to you, please check their personal repositories (if they have created any). Also, please check if they have made any commits to the project repository (e.g. Resistor_F24).
* For every week in the spreadsheet, you should check their commits, quality of code, whether they have written their own code or not, and are there enough comments in the code. Then, grade accordingly and give scores out of 2.
* Instructions on how the dates are counted are mentioned in the spreadsheet. For example, all code commits done on or before September 3, and after August 27, will be counted towards Week 3 (September 3, 2024).
2. Grading Teams Documentation:
* We do not need to grade their power point presentations.
* When you open Teams, select “IPA Team Notebook” or “APPS Team Notebook”, then find the student assigned to you for grading. We need to grade their documentation/notes.
* For every student, you may find either a single page or multiple pages for multiple weeks. Teams documentation is also graded on a weekly basis.
* Repeating the example above, all notes written on or before September 3, and after August 27, will be counted towards Week 3 (September 3, 2024).
* When you click on a page, select View > Page Versions, this will tell you the date and time when that student made every change to that page. We use this date and time to verify. Sometimes, students would be late and write notes for Week-2 during Week-3. So, we need to verify the accurate date and grade accordingly.
* A good documentation consists of description, block diagrams, equations, and discussion of results (basically, it should show effort).
If you have any further questions, please contact VIP Helpers who have done this before. Thank you.
Sincerely,
============================================================

Subject: [vip-help] VIPER-VIP Grading Requirements
Hello VIP Helpers,
The link to the grading spreadsheet for this semester is : VIP_Fall_2024_Grades<https://purdue0-my.sharepoint.com/:x:/r/personal/raghav12_purdue_edu/Documents/VIP_Fall_2024_Grades.xlsx?d=w82dd8c2e605b43f1be3d4e67c1bc565d&csf=1&web=1&e=wU5SNJ&xsdata=MDV8MDJ8dmlwLWhlbHBAZWNuLnB1cmR1ZS5lZHV8ZjU5YWEwZTAyZTQ3NDFiYmE1YWQwOGRjZDVjOTY1NjZ8NDEzMGJkMzk3YzUzNDE5Y2IxZTU4NzU4ZDZkNjNmMjF8MHwwfDYzODYyMDMwODE2NTI3MjQyN3xVbmtub3dufFRXRnBiR1pzYjNkOGV5SldJam9pTUM0d0xqQXdNREFpTENKUUlqb2lWMmx1TXpJaUxDSkJUaUk2SWsxaGFXd2lMQ0pYVkNJNk1uMD18MHx8fA%3d%3d&sdata=eTZzam9uSDZ6bE04YlR6TENFcHE5TmU5V1pEM3JHZEt1Yk4rWHp3UWtSbz0%3d>
1. We need to grade the students on their progress till now, i.e., for weeks 2, 3, and 4. Specifically, for every week, please enter points out of 2 for each Teams documentation and their gogs code commits. Every VIP Helper is assigned a few students to grade.
* NOTE: Some students may have multiple branches in their gogs, please make sure to check them.
1. Besides points, we also need to enter comments or suggestions for them to improve in the T column of the spreadsheet. Comments should be limited to a couple of lines, short but helpful. For example, “You need to be more consistent on committing your code to gogs every week because you are graded for each week” or “Please include relevant equations in your Teams documentation”, etc.
2. We need to do this before noon on Monday. This is early feedback for the students to improve their scores much before mid-semester grading.
3. I apologize for the delay in sharing this information and the grade sheet, and for requesting input on short notice.
Please let me know if you have any concerns or need help. Thank you!
