Good afternoon,

Many of you are researching neural networks and may plan to use them in your projects. Even if you are working with a simple three-layer fully connected network, you will need to be able to answer the questions in the associated document. These three questions test your understanding of neural network structure, the forward pass, and backpropagation respectively. These are not the only topics involved in NNs, but if you do not understand these it will be difficult to progress towards more complicated networks. If you are unsure how to start, I recommend reading up on perceptrons. If you cannot derive answers to these three questions yourself, you will have a difficult time justifying using NN's in your project to our professors.
