Dear Professor,

I was sick over the weekend and woke up with a high fever this morning. I took some medicine and rested but my fever still has not gotten better so I will not be able to come to class today.

I am really sorry for this late information and request you to excuse this absence, but I understand if you do not do so. I am in contact with my team and will catch up to the presentation today before next class.
