2024 Purdue Child Care Tuition Assistance Program - Applications now being accepted

The Purdue Child Care Tuition Assistance Program<https://maillinks.purdue.edu/t/46422284/1364161576/84663420/0/116342/?f5d63f87=UHVyZHVlJTIwQ2hpbGRjYXJlJTIwZW1haWw&x=8eecd2ea> is a new option created to help make quality child care more affordable for benefits-eligible faculty and staff. Funds for these scholarships are provided through a grant from the Indiana Family and Social Service Administration, the Patty Jischke Child Care Endowment and Purdue University.

The application window opens today, July 8, 2024, and ends at 5 p.m. ET on August 16, 2024. The application and all applicable documentation must be completed and submitted no later than 5 p.m. ET on August 16, 2024. Scholarships are not awarded on a first-come, first -served basis. The same opportunity and criteria are applied to all applicants.

Eligibility and criteria to apply

To apply for child care assistance, you must meet the following criteria:

  *   Currently be a benefits-eligible Purdue University Faculty or staff member or have at least one child enrolled at the Purdue Child Care Center<https://maillinks.purdue.edu/t/46422284/1364161576/101744273/0/116342/?f5d63f87=UHVyZHVlJTIwQ2hpbGRjYXJlJTIwZW1haWw&x=1c6bcaa9> located on the West Lafayette campus.
  *   Have at least one child currently enrolled in a level 3 or level 4 Paths to QUALITY facility, or equivalent. Only families who have child(ren) currently enrolled in a level 3 or level 4 Paths to QUALITY(tm) facility (or equivalent), are eligible to apply for that child(ren). You can apply for the scholarship for all children currently enrolled in a level 3 or level 4 Paths to QUALITY(tm) facility or equivalent.
  *   Spend or anticipate spending at least 12 percent of your family combined annual salary on child care.
     *   If you currently spend less than 12 percent of your family combined annual salary on child care, but feel strongly about your financial situation, you can still complete an application.

Scholarship value and term

The value of the scholarship may cover up to 50 percent of the family's annual child care costs. The total amount of funds available will depend on the number of applicants and financial needs of those who apply.

The scholarship term for the 2024-2025 child care tuition assistance is August 1, 2024, and runs no longer than July 31, 2025. The award is granted for one year.

Note: All information in the application will be used for child care tuition assistance purposes only. Qualtrics is a secure platform that protects data.

Applicants will be notified of award status via email the week of August 26, 2024. Awards will be disbursed to awarded families no later than September 30, 2024, via payroll. Tax implications will apply.
