msepostdoc-list ARMS reopening Wednesday

MSE folks,
From the provost’s office and facilities:

The building will be open tomorrow (Wed) with some restrictions.  Please read the details below and adjust your course plans if needed accordingly.


  *   The building will open safely on 1/17 (Wed) with restrictions
     *   Coordination will be between PUFD, O&M, EHS, and others
  *   Building will open at 7am.  Building will be closed at 11pm.  Keycard access will not be available after 11 pm.
  *   Occupants should follow signage

Restrictions

  *   East and West entrances only will be available
     *   All other exterior doors will be marked emergency exit only
  *   Some spaces will be closed
     *   Atrium closed
        *   Walkway will be made available to get between east and west side of building
        *   Occupants must follow the marked path
     *   The 3rd floor atrium bridge will be closed
     *   B61 and B71 labs will be closed
  *   No hot work in labs
     *   “Due to ongoing work on the fire system, do not perform any hot work in your laboratory or fume hood, including open flames or anything that introduces sparks.  Test your fume hood prior to using. If the fume hood does not operate properly, do not begin any chemical work.  If you have any questions, please contact Mita Juristyarini, Assistant Director of Research Safety, Environmental Health and Safety, at pjuristy at purdue.edu<mailto:pjuristy at purdue.edu>”

So, students, your classes in ARMS may be in person tomorrow (unless faculty have already made other arrangements)
Graduate students, staff, and post-docs, please pay attention to the lab work issues.  Check your fume hoods.
Faculty, please communicate to your students if you are planning something other than in person classes in ARMS tomorrow.
