[Materials Science and Engineering Graduate St Assoc]

To all MSE researchers, faculty, and staff,

The MSEGSA is announcing the Materials at Purdue Symposium (M at PS). This event will be an opportunity to celebrate the diverse and high-quality research on materials science and engineering across Purdue. Additionally, we hope to offer this as an opportunity for junior students to practice submitting to conferences and condensing research topics into accessible presentations.

The event will take place on Friday, May 26th, running from 8am to 4pm. Refreshments and a lunch will be provided, so we ask that all participants register in advance. Undergraduate students and graduate students from the College of Engineering will be invited to attend at a later date.

The attached call for abstracts details the presentation format and application process, but a few key details are as follows:

Presentations will discuss original research performed by the presenter in any area relevant to materials science or engineering. Researchers interested in presenting are asked to submit an abstract of 250 words or less describing the motivation, methodology, and impact of their work. Applicants should talk to their advisor before submitting.

Submissions will be accepted until April 14th from all current graduate students and post-doctoral researchers and reviewed by the MSEGSA executive board. Submissions will be reviewed purely by the quality of the abstract, so the scale or duration of the project will not be detrimental to any potential applicants. The number of presenters will be limited to ensure a reasonable schedule of talks, so acceptance should be considered an accomplishment for those applying. Additionally, all presenters will be thanked with a small gift from the MSEGSA!
