You are invited to the seminar below that is being held today at 1:30 (sorry for the late notice). Join if you can! :)
Prof. Wolfgang Forstner will have an invited, special talk this Friday (Dec. 8) at 1:30pm in 3153 HAMP. It will be focused on the strategies and methodologies to successfully carry out scientific research, mostly based on his 40+ year experience in research and advising/mentoring graduate students. I hope that everyone can make it even you are not writing a thesis at this moment. Please feel free to share this with anyone that might be interested in.

The talk addresses challenges when doing a MSc/PhD: how to select a topic, how to structure time, how to find and evaluate the literature, how to publish, and how to address pitfalls which may come up. It is meant to become aware of the relevance of the various ingredients of MSc/PhD work in order to be able to finalize successfully.
