ESE-faculty-list April 22 5:30PM Earth Day keynote lecture

This year, as part of our Earth Day celebration, the OUS will be welcoming noted environmental author and strategist Colonel Mark Mykleby to speak on Monday April 22 at 5:30pm in FRNY G140.
Col. Mykleby retired from the Marine Corps in July 2011; his last assignment was as a Special Strategic Assistant to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, in which capacity he co-authored A National Strategic Narrative, a groundbreaking concept for a 21st Century American grand strategy based on sustainability. Col. Mykleby is now a senior fellow at the New America Foundation, where he continues his work on grand strategy and sustainability.
Col. Mykleby's talk, entitled "Sustainability: Our National Strategic Imperative," will uniquely cut across areas such as sustainability, national security, and public policy; as such, it should be of interest to you and to your students. The Colonel and we at the OUS are also looking forward to an engaging question-and-answer session after his talk, with attending faculty and students.
In the past, several faculty members have found it useful to integrate events such as these with their class work, offering students extra credit for attending, and you might consider a similar route.
