FYI to remind ethos of you who may interested. Purdue will have 5 free registrations, but 2 are spoken for already by 2 ESE students. Therefore, there are still 3 available. Please let me know if you are interested and I will give you the code needed to get free registration. Having said that, Purdue is not currently listed as a NCSE affiliate, because we paid our membership dues late. We are trying to get this fixed by Monday morning so those of you that plan to submit abstracts (due Monday) can do so (registration required at the time of abstract submission).

The security of individuals, communities and nations is profoundly affected by changing environmental conditions. Climate disruption, access to affordable and clean water, food and energy, are among the factors that can impact both the health and stability of individuals and their communities. Nations are beginning to integrate such environmental factors into decisions regarding defense, diplomacy and development.

On January 18-20, 2012, the 12th National Conference on Science, Policy and the Environment will address these manifold issues through five keynote addresses from prominent and influential leaders; eight fascinating plenary sessions with journalists as moderators; 22 fascinating symposia; and 25 interactive breakout workshops. The Conference will center around five main themes:

1. Climate Disruption & Security

 2. Food Security

3. Energy Security
