Purdue University's Women in Aerospace extends a cordial invitation for you to attend the upcoming Amelia Earhart Summit (AES). Scheduled for April 5th, 2025, on the Purdue campus, AES is a full-day conference designed to provide engineering students with insights into the aerospace community through engaging sessions, panels, workshops, and interactive activities.
Traditionally focused on encouraging women's presence in the field, this year's AES has an exciting twist; the event is open to all students! We aim to bridge the connection between the past, present and future of the aerospace industry through this year's theme, "Launch, Lead, Legacy." We will be exploring ways in which students can launch their careers in aerospace, lead with pioneering ideas and solutions, and carry forward the legacy of Boilermakers in aerospace excellence.
To make this summit truly impactful, we have assembled panels of speakers representing organizations such as NASA, Boeing and Blue Origin who can share their experiences and expertise. The summit will feature the following panels:
* Panel 1: Women in Aerospace - Breaking Barriers and Building Legacies in the field of Astronautics
* Panel 2: Diversity in the Skies - Promoting Inclusion in Aerospace Engineering
* Panel 3: Legacy of Amelia Earhart - Inspiring the Next Generation of Aviators
Lunch will be provided and a reception for all attendees will be held at the conclusion of the event. The summit will run from 8:00 AM EDT through 4:30 PM EDT and the reception will be held from 5:00 PM EDT to 6:30 PM EDT.

Silicon Civilization Challenge

The Silicon Civilization Challenge Ideathon by SSA Co. is a fast-paced, 4.5-hour competition uniting business, engineering, and liberal arts students to solve real-world problems using semiconductor technology. Teams of three (one from each discipline) will brainstorm, develop, and pitch innovative ideas to a panel of Purdue judges. The event includes snacks, a keynote, and three phases: ideation, pitch development, and final presentations. Blue Origin is thrilled to invite you to an upcoming Information Session where you can learn about exciting full-time opportunities tailored for soon-to-be graduates (both Spring and Fall 2025). We will also discuss our Spring 2026 Internship Program. Pizza will be provided!
Members from Blue Origin engineering teams and human resources organization - many of whom are also Purdue alumni - will be available after the talk to meet with students and answer questions about the company and their experience.
Blue Origin was founded with a vision of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. Blue Origin envisions a time when people can tap into the limitless resources of space and enable the movement of damaging industries into space to preserve Earth, humanity?s blue origin.
Blue Origin is working today to create that future by developing reusable launch vehicles and in-space systems that are safe, low cost, and serve the needs of all civil, commercial, and defense customers. Blue Origin?s efforts include flying astronauts to space on New Shepard, producing reusable liquid rocket engines, developing an orbital launch vehicle with New Glenn, building next-generation space habitats, and returning to the surface of the Moon. These endeavors will add new chapters to the history of spaceflight and move all of humanity closer to that founding vision.

Silicon Civilization Challenge

The Silicon Civilization Challenge Ideathon by SSA Co. is a fast-paced, 4.5-hour competition uniting business, engineering, and liberal arts students to solve real-world problems using semiconductor technology. Teams of three (one from each discipline) will brainstorm, develop, and pitch innovative ideas to a panel of Purdue judges. The event includes snacks, a keynote, and three phases: ideation, pitch development, and final presentations. Summer/Fall Internship Opportunity
Join Liberation Labs in Richmond, Indiana this summer for a paid internship for either May to August 2025 or May to December 2025. Liberation Labs is developing a global network of fit-for-purpose precision fermentation manufacturing facilities, starting with our launch facility in Richmond, IN. We build the critical infrastructure needed to produce novel bioproducts at scale and enable the precision fermentation market. Together, with our customers and partners, we use our innovative thinking and passion for manufacturing to make everyday products more affordable and more accessible. We believe that precision fermentation can unlock solutions that have real and lasting?impact on the future of sustainability.
Reporting to the Head of Project Engineering, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our project engineering team, engineering partners, and equipment vendors to help complete construction and begin to start-up operations of an industry-leading precision fermentation facility. At the construction site in Richmond IN, you will be working directly with the site construction management team along with the newly hired operational leaders that will be located on site.

In 2025, RIISE is hosting Wheel RIISE where the organization hopes to include other universities across the Big Ten and Midwest. They are hoping to connect multiple universities to join the cause to raise awareness for adaptive sports. At the event, engineering and athletics will be dually highlighted.
Along with the engineering aspect, we will also host wheelchair basketball exhibition games with participation from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign as well as the local Lafayette Spinners. The goal of this event is to share the talents of adaptive sports athletes with the community at large, highlight the connection between engineering and athletics, and foster inner-collegiate support for the cause amongst Midwest universities. With direct support from Purdue?s College of Engineering and Athletic?s Department, RIISE is excited to host this collaborative event!

As you take on the challenges of the final weeks of the school year, we encourage you to focus on your wellness. Remember that taking care of yourself not only makes you feel better physically and emotionally, but also enhances your academic success! Engage in a creative activity like coloring, drawing, painting, writing, or playing music to relieve stress and release pent up emotions.

Digital Detox
Reflect on your relationship with your mobile phone. How many hours per day do you spend using it? We often complain of not having enough time. Is your mobile phone usage depleting your quality time? Try silencing your phone for a while?even just 30 minutes a day to completely disconnect and savor a conversation with a friend, a nap, a cup of coffee, gym time, a walk, or anything that you enjoy, and leave your phone unused.
