Meeting with a licensed therapist for counseling should be as easy as going to the doctor for the flu. You do not have to have a mental health diagnosis to benefit from counseling. Counseling can help you to: * Find clarity in areas of your life that are troublesome. * Work through complex emotions like grief or the end of a relationship. * Work through a stressful or traumatic experience. * Challenge negative thinking patterns. * Learn new coping techniques related to experiences like stress, anxiety, and loneliness. * Focus on personal growth. Did you know that the College of Engineering has its own therapist, Jennie Beutler, whom you can see free of charge? Jennie has walk-in hours every day, Monday through Friday, from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. in ARMS 1251. You can also schedule an initial screening with her here. Jennie's student clients report via anonymous data collection that their stress levels have been reduced by 82% after meeting with her just 2 - 5 times! We encourage you to consider stopping in to see her. Improving your mental health enhances your overall well-being, including your ability to thrive academically!
