Dear EMBRIO Folk,

I hope everyone on spring break has been enjoying the warmer weather, had time for relaxation, and your travels have gone smoothly.

A hearty shout out to the large EMBRIO team that presented during our Institute's workshop held March 9th at the The Allied Genetics Conference<https://nam04.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fgenetics-gsa.org%2Ftagc-2024%2F&data=05%7C02%7Cembrio-list%40ecn.purdue.edu%7Ccda762c6a19c403b3d1c08dc44f9425c%7C4130bd397c53419cb1e58758d6d63f21%7C0%7C0%7C638461084543590794%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&sdata=KjJnXFIhGXT1IdWfzKh9NhSYObZAe9gb%2FOmnMiOVTi4%3D&reserved=0> in D.C., and to Drs. Zartman, Reeves, and Li for organizing and leading this effort!! The workshop engaged 60 attendees learning about EMBRIO research advancements through Advancing Computational Developmental Biology: Integrating Experimental and Computational Systems Approaches. Speakers included Drs. Zartman, Reeves, Kumar, Deng, W. Zhang, Glazier, Brubaker, and Li, and graduate student Chang Ding from the Deng lab. The slide decks from these talks are available on our shared Box account under the TAGC24 folder<https://nam04.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fapp.box.com%2Fs%2Fc7uuzfzjr7llya3ha9qg2drtzliw4rso&data=05%7C02%7Cembrio-list%40ecn.purdue.edu%7Ccda762c6a19c403b3d1c08dc44f9425c%7C4130bd397c53419cb1e58758d6d63f21%7C0%7C0%7C638461084543747041%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&sdata=ghDG8TEeunDteQsavVpOs71Bhttp1tBb7vyEJfJ0tns%3D&reserved=0>.

This coming Monday, March 18th, will feature Dr. Zartman during our all-hands bi-weekly meeting presenting a research seminar on the Thrust 2B efforts and collaborations to date. April 1st meeting will feature a guest speaker, Dr. Chao Cai (received his Ph.D. in the Staiger lab), Assistant Professor and Plant Sciences Information Specialist at Purdue, walking us through “Promoting Reproducible Science: How to manage and share your research data”. Remaining semester seminar dates will feature research talks from Thrust 1 and Thrust 3.

Enjoy the weekend, and see you all on Monday afternoon!

Brent
