Dear EMBRIOnic People,

Last week saw more than sixty of us in person for the combined summer school and annual retreat held at Purdue University. It was wonderful to reconnect, share the latest research results and insights, interact with panelists about the broad range of careers available for those with graduate degrees, dig deeper into the Institute's plans for data sharing and management, and for those in the summer school: to learn effective methods and pedagogical best practices for creating instructional materials in the context of digital media such as google colabs.

A huge thank you to the summer school thrust 4 organizers, including lead instructors Ale Magana, Stephanie Gardner, Anajli Iyer-Pascuzzi, and those who assisted with leading sessions including Elsje Pienaar, Ignacio Camarillo, Soumi Mukherjee, Aby Udosen, NIssa Larson, and Hayden Fennell. We'll be staying in touch with all who participated in designing new instructional materials for ways in which you might complete your projects and dissemination. A big thank you to all who presented talks and posters! Those who presented thrust talks, please upload your slide decks to our shared Box to this folder<https://nam04.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpurdue.app.box.com%2Ffolder%2F275021325469&data=05%7C02%7Cembrio-list%40ecn.purdue.edu%7C04bbe129881d4cbc25c308dca4ca4e52%7C4130bd397c53419cb1e58758d6d63f21%7C0%7C0%7C638566436014154200%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&sdata=nHFGlKPVkp3EcOG9hXNWq99OVSrJhDZ9QZ2qqDJlZ%2F0%3D&reserved=0> : EMBRIO INSTITUTE> Summer Workshops & Annual Retreats > Annual Retreat 2024 > Presentations Slide Decks.

If you couldn't attend, or otherwise didn't get your 2024 EMBRIO tee shirt (one of your lab mates may be bringing it to you this week. Thanks again to Shelly Tan for the design this year!), shirts will be available for pick up at Purdue next week, and we'll mail out to those as needed.

A reminder that we'll be breaking from the bi-weekly all-hands seminars until August (and I am officially out this week - back on the 22nd). Until then, enjoy the remaining summer session, stay cool, and safe travels!!

Brent
