Hello All,

Most of our preparations are in place, and we are very much looking forward to hosting you at the awardee meeting this year. Unlike previous communications, I’m sending this one to all registered in-person participants (blind copied). BII leads, please share this with your virtual participants.

Attached is the abstract book, which includes:

  *   the final agenda
  * the order and titles of flash talks
  * lists of posters, with numbers indicating their positions in the room
  * abstracts from the 14 institutes, listed in the order of presentations on the agenda
  * A list of expected attendees, organized by institute and also alphabetically
  * a map of the DC metro system, indicating the best stop for the airports (Dulles and Reagan) and the best stop for NSF headquarters (Eisenhower Ave on the Yellow line)
  * A tourist map for Alexandria. * A list of dining options for the few restaurants that are within easy walking distance of NSF. These businesses have been warned to be prepared for a surge in lunch crowds.

Poster Presenters:

When you arrive, please find your poster location in the abstract book and hang your poster in the numbered location. We have tacks and Velcro. Also, this is a final reminder of the opportunity to have your poster included in the poster book, which will be distributed separately to all BII participants. Please send digital (pdf or pptx) versions of your team’s posters to Matt Herron (mherron at nsf.gov) and Reed Beaman (rsbeaman at nsf.gov) by January 19th. Files must be less than 20 Mb.

Virtual Participants: Please register ahead of time here<https://nam04.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fnsf.zoomgov.com%2Fwebinar%2Fregister%2FWN_u1fC5pxYTb65fBzA8O8HWQ&data=05%7C02%7Cembrio-list%40ecn.purdue.edu%7Cc738afc0ccf541f0a76708dc192b6444%7C4130bd397c53419cb1e58758d6d63f21%7C0%7C0%7C638412921495971178%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&sdata=DHw%2Bs2lCfbkcVJrEHBy7rpvsQ58PKf33y3bfBrTfpxA%3D&reserved=0>. A zoom link will then be emailed to you automatically. This will be a non-interactive webinar, so virtual participants won’t be able to participate in the breakouts or poster sessions. However, there will be a Q&A function, so we hope this will allow some active participation.

Safe travels to all, and we hope to see everyone Monday morning!

Best regards,

Steve
