Dear Weiwei,

I am not sure if I sent the announcement to EMBRIO successfully. Brent is away, and your name is linked to the email list. Please disseminate if you can.

Dear all,

I cordially invite you to attend Dr. Yubin Zhou's seminar on Apr 24, noon-1 pm, in LILY 117. His talk will focus on new tools to control calcium currents and possibly other cell signaling events with implications such as in immune therapy.

Dr. Yubin Zhou is a tenured Professor and Presidential Impact Fellow at the Institute of Biosciences and Technology, Texas A&M University.

At Texas A&M University, Dr. Zhou spearheads a bioengineering, and synthetic immunology lab focused on developing technologies that enable remote and programmable control of protein activity, cell physiology, and designer cells to benefit both basic and translational research. Tight integration among mechanistic studies, biomedical engineering, and translational sciences is a hallmark of his ongoing research.

Dr. Zhou has published over 140 publications in premier journals (Nature Reviews Bioengineering, Physiological Reviews, Nature Nanotechnology, Nature Cell Biology, Nature Chemical Biology, Nature Genetics, Nature Structural & Molecular Biology, PNAS, JACS, Angew Chem, Advanced Science, Cancer Cell, Cancer Discovery, Cell Chemical Biology, Science Advances, Trends or Current Opinion series, etc). His work has been featured or highlighted in multiple media outlets.

Dr. Zhou was the recipient of the Fellow Award and Special Fellow Award from the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, the TAMU Research Excellence Award, the Research Scholar Award from the American Cancer Society, the Innovative Research in Cancer Nanotechnology Award from the National Cancer Institute, Protégé member the Texas Academy of Medicine, Engineering, Science & Technology (TAMEST), and elected Fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE).

Feel free to visit his webpage for the full list of tools he developed.
