A reminder that the EMBRIO Trainee Professional Development Grants Series starts Monday during the Nov. 28th Weekly Update (students and postdocs and panel members only please).



ALL EMBRIO Students and Postdocs are encouraged to participate in this professional development series.

November 28th  Session - Panel discussion with NIH- and NSF-funded EMBRIO faculty in science and education research

Monday, 3pm ET during regularly scheduled Weekly Update (and zoom link<https://purdue-edu.zoom.us/j/96053485465?pwd=elVnY20wcm9kaFRtVUdPcmFHaGl1UT09&from=addon>):



EMBRIO Faculty Panel Members: Dr. Jason Cannon, Dr. Alejandra Magana, Dr. Chris Staiger



The panel will have a high-level discussion and Q&A about their experience writing grants and communicating with federal granting agencies, along with basics about developing your grant writing chops now, what goes into an aims page, understanding the grant cycle process, as well as soliciting reviews and feedback, and building upon feedback.



November 28th Session Learning Objectives:

  *   Compare and contrast different federal funding agencies for science and education research project funding
  *   Describe the importance of considering funding agencies and grant writing development NOW
  *   Describe the components and purpose of the aims page
  *   Describe the grant cycle process and building from feedback
