Subject: Volunteers Needed for OFE's Adopt Your State Program

Hi everyone,

It's time to start recruiting volunteers for this year's Adopt Your State program! Please forward to message below to your student ambassadors and any other students you feel would be a great fit for this outreach program:

The Office of Future Engineers is looking for student volunteers for a program we call "Adopt Your State," where we pair current Purdue engineers with admitted students from their home state to serve as a point of contact, resource, and possibly even mentor/friend on campus, and we are actively looking for volunteers to reach out to students admitted to FYE for Fall 2018!

The basic responsibilities/activities include:
- Sending a message to admitted students from your home state, introducing yourself and asking if they have any questions
- Inviting the students to lunch/coffee if they're coming to campus (we will provide you with a meal card for this, yay free lunch!)
- Sharing some of your experiences, insights, and survival tips to help them be better prepared for college life and determine if Purdue really is the place for them
- Attend 2 evening meetings, each roughly only one hour and both with free(!!) food
- Time commitment is minimal, maybe an hour per week

The only requirement to be a volunteer is that you are a current domestic student in the College of Engineering who is willing to be a friendly resource for admitted students! That's it!

We plan on having a one-hour training session (with free food!) in the last week of February. The program itself will run from early March through early May.

If you have participated in prior years, things will be a bit different this year that will reduce your workload and streamline processes while also hopefully increasing the number of responses you'll actually get from admitted students. Exciting stuff!

If you'd like to sign up, just fill out this form and we'll be in touch: https://goo.gl/forms/3xMgSxmhVKXfZX023 (Note: If you participated last year, please fill out his form again so I have your latest info)

Please feel free to reach out to me at aurie at purdue.edu<mailto:aurie at purdue.edu> with any questions!

Thanks,

Mr. I. Aurie Swartz
