FYI concerning upcoming networking hardware maintenance. Please plan accordingly if necessary:


Work to be Performed and Why:
Network Engineering and Operations staff will replace core networking hardware for this maintenance. These devices are approaching the end of their service life and are due to be upgraded. Staff will remove cabling and hardware, install new hardware, and then replace cabling. During the maintenance window all services, wired and wireless and VoIP will be unavailable and/or intermittent from 10:00PM - 6:00AM.

Date and Time:
Sunday March 16, 10:00PM - 6:00AM
Tuesday March 18, 10:00PM - 6:00AM

Affected Areas:
BHEE (Non-datacenter spaces), BRNG, CONV, DSAI, DUDL, FRNY, GRIS, HAMP, HOVD, JNSN, KNOY, LILY, LMBS, MATH (Non-datacenter spaces), ME, MSEE, PHYS, POTR, SC, STON, WANG, WATW, WTHR.

Downtime Expected:
Up to 480 minutes between 10:00PM and 6:00AM

Communication Plan:
Notify building deputies, Risque email alert distribution list, affected groups prior to work and then notify IOC prior to work start and after work is complete. IOC can be contacted post maintenance with issues.

Scope of Work:
Staff will remove fiber cabling and network hardware within TEL and LAMB and replace it with new hardware and re-cable.
