GWG is excited to announce we will be hosting our fourth virtual seminar of the summer on July 23rd from 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM! Please join our speakers, Dr. Theresa Nutten and Dr. Bethany Foerg in an interactive session about stress management and self-care and practice some techniques with them. We will be providing Jimmy John sandwiches, snacks, and drinks beforehand for those joining to enjoy during the seminar from their respective workspaces! Dr. Bethany Foerg  Bio:

Bethany (she/her) is a CAPS Staff Therapist and one of the liaisons to the College of Engineering and Graduate Student Government. Bethany has a M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy from IPFW. Prior to joining CAPS in November 2020, Bethany has been a clinician in community mental health, private practice, and hospital settings. She provides therapy from a client-centered approach that incorporates cognitive behavioral therapy, emotionally focused therapy, experiential, humanistic, and existential models. She enjoys helping people learn to regulate their emotions, gain assertiveness, live healthier and happier lives, and have healthy, strong relationships. In her spare time, Bethany enjoys baking, arts and crafts, and being in nature. Her favorite self-care activity is to look for birds while hiking.

Dr. Theresa Nutten Bio:
Dr. Theresa Nutten (she/her/hers; preferred name Theresa) is a CAPS Staff Therapist and the CAPS Website and Social Media Coordinator. Theresa earned both her M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy and her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University. In her clinical work, Theresa uses integrative approaches including Acceptance and Commitment, Mindfulness, and Relational-Cultural Therapy. Theresa is passionate about providing multiculturally sensitive, social justice oriented, and affirming care to her clients and within the Purdue Community. She is an advocate for anti-racism and an ally to the LGBTQIA+ community. Clinical interests include race-based trauma and stress, identity development concerns (including race, gender, and sexual orientation), trauma, mood and anxiety related disorders, interpersonal and relational concerns, phase of life, and self-care management. Outside of counseling, Theresa enjoys musicals, singing, making homemade greeting cards, and spending time with loved ones. One of her go-to self-care activities is mindfully cooking for herself and others.
