[Che-student-staff-list] Virtual Conference Registrations/Travel Card

Good Morning Everyone,

I have some updates for everyone regarding virtual conference registration and travel cards in general.  Please pass this on to your Grad. Staff or anyone else within your purview who might be travelers.

Travel Cards - As many of you have discovered, your travel cards may have expired over the last 7 months.  Never fear - most of them have automatically renewed.  It is my goal to come to the office this week and begin the redistribution of these cards.

The bad news - Travel Cards still have a $1 limit due to the pandemic spending guidelines.  A temporary increase can be requested but there is a time factor there and many of you would like to take advantage of early bird rates for AIChE, etc.

The good news - preapproval is no longer required for virtual conference attendance/payment.

Immediate solution - you may pay for these costs using a personal card and submit a request for reimbursement when the conference is completed. We can work with you on the forms that are needed and Admins will also have the required information.  Since there is no travel involved it could be the quickest solution.

If you choose not to use a personal card and wish to use your Purdue Travel Card - you can email me (jjhegg at purdue.edu<mailto:jjhegg at purdue.edu>) and we can work on a temporary increase of your card to pay for the registration - I have the required form.  As stated above, this is a process that may take a few days to process.  We would also need to make sure you have a current card which I hope to have happen by the end of the week.
